Profile Codes

Code Dispute Process

How we handle complaints and takedowns for profile codes

Last Updated: February 2026

Profile codes are unique identifiers that help subscribers find and follow organizations on SimplyNotified. We take brand protection seriously. If you believe a profile code infringes your trademark, misrepresents your brand, or is being used in bad faith, you may file a dispute.

Filing a Complaint

To file a dispute, send an email to our legal team with the following information:

  • Your name and contact information (email, phone)
  • Your relationship to the brand (owner, authorized representative, trademark holder)
  • The profile code in question (e.g., the exact code you believe infringes)
  • Basis for the complaint (trademark registration, brand ownership, likelihood of confusion, bad faith use)
  • Supporting documentation (trademark registration number, proof of ownership, or other relevant evidence)

Send complaints to legal@simplynotified.com with the subject line "Profile Code Dispute".

Our Review Process

  1. Acknowledgment: We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 5 business days.
  2. Investigation: We will review the complaint, the profile code holder's response (if applicable), and any supporting evidence. This typically takes 10–15 business days.
  3. Decision: We will notify both parties of our decision. Possible outcomes include: (a) no action, (b) code reassignment to the complainant, or (c) code removal/suspension.
  4. Appeal: Either party may request a one-time appeal within 14 days of the decision. Appeals are reviewed by senior staff.

Ownership and Transfer

Profile codes are licensed for use with your organization on SimplyNotified. They are not property you can sell, auction, or transfer for value. We may reassign or revoke a code for trademark abuse, impersonation, bad-faith squatting, or other policy violations. Account or organization transfers that include a code must go through our support process.

Takedowns

If we determine that a profile code infringes a trademark, misrepresents a brand, or violates our policies, we may:

  • Remove or suspend the profile code
  • Require the organization to choose a new code
  • Transfer the code to the legitimate rights holder (when appropriate and supported by evidence)
  • Suspend or terminate the account for repeat or egregious violations

Good Faith

We expect all parties to act in good faith. False or frivolous complaints may result in account action. Similarly, using a profile code to impersonate or misrepresent a brand may result in immediate takedown and account suspension.
